Research study information

Titel of study:

Field trial of an alternative app-based pain diary

Goals and background of the study

Pain diaries are an integral part of pain treatment. In this study we will test an alternative pain diary.

Procedure and tasks

This is an online study. We have developed this simple app to remind you every evening for two weeks to answer three questions. This shouldn’t take more than 30 seconds each time. When you open the app for the first time, you will be asked to choose the time at which you want to be reminded of the questions. The questions will be presented, whenever you click on the reminder (Push notification)

It is important, that you answer the questions spontaneously, without thinking too much about it. Only then can we use your data appropriately. Before and after the two weeks diary period, as well as after one week, we will ask you to fill out several additional questions (duration: 2-5 min). You can continue to fill out the diary after the two week period, for one more week, if you choose to do so. After 4 weeks you will be asked to answer the questions again (duration: 2-5 min).
